What is Nitrous Oxide?
Nitrous Oxide or “laughing gas” is the mildest form of sedation used for slightly anxious patients. It involves breathing through a scented nosepiece that will place the patient in a more relaxed state. The patient is fully aware of their surroundings and remains conscious throughout the procedure. The effects of nitrous oxide sedation wear off once the mask is removed.
